Ukrainian Honey-Onion Sauce ~ Android Recipe by MICHAEL SINGH KARAM


Ethnic Recipe:

Ukrainian Honey-Onion Sauce

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoon - Honey

3 each - Onion large sliced thin &

quartered

3/4 cup - Beef stock

1/2 teaspoon - Garlic finely minced

1 1/2 teaspoon - Dijon mustard

4 teaspoon - Cider vinegar

1/4 cup - Sunflower oil

Serves 2.

Directions

1 Heat the oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat, add the garlic & onions, saute', stir frequently and cook for 20 minutes.

2 add the stock, raise the ehat to high and cook for approx.

3 7 minutes until the liquid is reduced by 1/2.


4 Add the mustard, honey, & vinegar, reduce heat to med-low and simmer for 10-15 minutes.


5 remove from heat and allow to sit for 10-15 minutes.

6 Serve warm but not hot.


7 * NOTE: This is atraditional sauce that is used with many dishes.


8 It is great with vegetables, better with meats, and will keep refrigerated for 5-7 days or frozen for 3-4 months.
